How to connect Wati to Datadrew

Last updated on Jul 07, 2026

What data does Datadrew pull from Wati?

Connecting Wati to Datadrew lets you analyze your WhatsApp Business messaging performance alongside your e-commerce data. Datadrew syncs conversation data, message delivery and read rates, broadcast campaign metrics, chatbot interaction data, and contact engagement — helping you understand how WhatsApp drives customer engagement, support efficiency, and sales conversions.

Prerequisites

  • An active Wati account with API access
  • Admin access to your Wati dashboard
  • Meta Business Verification must be completed — Wati requires this as a prerequisite for API access. If your Meta Business account is not verified, complete the verification process at Meta Business Settings before proceeding.

Prerequisite: You must have completed Meta Business Verification before you can use the Wati API. This is a Meta requirement, not a Datadrew requirement. If you have not completed verification, visit your Meta Business Settings to start the process.

Step-by-step: Create your Wati API token

  1. Log in to your Wati Dashboard.
  2. Click API Docs in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click Create New Token to generate a stable API token.
  4. Copy the generated token.
  5. Note your Wati endpoint domain — it will look like live-server-XXXXX.wati.io (visible in your dashboard URL or API docs page).

Good to know: Use the "Create New Token" button to generate a stable, long-lived token. This is preferred over any temporary tokens that may appear in the API documentation page.

What to enter in Datadrew

  1. In your Datadrew dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Find Wati and click Connect.
  3. Paste your API token into the API Key field.
  4. Enter your Wati endpoint domain into the Domain field.
  5. Click Save to complete the connection.
Datadrew Field What to enter
API Key Your Wati API Token (from "Create New Token")
Domain Your Wati endpoint URL (e.g., live-server-XXXXX.wati.io)

Domain format: Enter just the domain portion of your Wati endpoint, e.g., live-server-12345.wati.io. Do not include https:// or any path after the domain.

Troubleshooting

  • "Unauthorized" or "Forbidden" error? Make sure your Meta Business Verification is complete. Wati requires this before API access is enabled. Check your verification status at Meta Business Settings.
  • Wrong domain format? The domain should look like live-server-XXXXX.wati.io. Do not include https:// or trailing slashes. You can find your exact endpoint in the Wati API Docs page.
  • Token expired? If you used a temporary token from the API docs page (instead of clicking "Create New Token"), it may expire. Go back to API Docs and click "Create New Token" for a stable, long-lived token.
  • Data not syncing? Verify both the API Key and Domain fields are correct. The domain must match your specific Wati server instance. Allow up to 24 hours for the initial data sync.
