Troubleshooting integration connection issues

Overview If you are having trouble connecting a data source or your integration is showing errors, this guide covers the most common issues and how to resolve them. Common issues and solutions 1. OAuth authorization window does not open Symptom: Nothing happens when you click "Connect" on an integration card. Solutions: - Check that your browser is not blocking pop-ups. Datadrew opens the platform's authorization page in a new window. Allow pop-ups for your Shopify admin domain. - Disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions that might interfere with OAuth redirects. - Try using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox work best). 2. "Permission denied" or "Access denied" error Symptom: The authorization flow completes but returns a permission error. Solutions: - Facebook Ads: Ensure you have Admin or Advertiser role on the ad account. Go to Facebook Business Manager > Business Settings > People to check your permissions. - Google Ads: You need at least read-only access. Ask your Google Ads account admin to grant you access. - Google Analytics 4: You need at least Viewer access to the GA4 property. Go to GA4 Admin > Account Access Management to verify. - Google Search Console: You need Owner or Full user access. Check at search.google.com/search-console. - Klaviyo: You need Owner or Admin role on the Klaviyo account. 3. "No accounts found" during account selection Symptom: After authorizing, the account selection dialog shows no accounts. Solutions: - Verify you signed in with the correct account. You may have multiple Google or Facebook accounts — make sure you are using the one with access to your ad accounts. - For Google Ads, if you only have access through a manager (MCC) account, you should still see sub-accounts listed. If not, contact your MCC admin. - For Facebook, verify you have at least one ad account in your Business Manager. 4. Integration shows "Disconnected" status Symptom: A previously working integration now shows as disconnected. Solutions: - Expired token: OAuth tokens can expire. Facebook tokens last about 60 days. Google tokens can be revoked if you change your Google password. Click the reconnect button on the integration card to re-authorize. - Revoked access: Someone may have revoked Datadrew's access from the platform. Re-authorize by clicking "Reconnect" on the integration card. - If you see a reconnection banner at the top of the Integrations page, click it to re-authorize the affected integration. 5. Data is syncing but not appearing on dashboards Symptom: The integration shows "Connected" or "Synced" but dashboards show no data. Solutions: - Wait for transformation: After a sync completes, data goes through a transformation step that can take 15-30 minutes. Wait and refresh your dashboard. - Check your date range: Make sure the date picker on the dashboard includes dates where the connected platform has data. - Check global filters: Go to Settings > Global Filters and make sure you have not accidentally filtered out all data. - New connection: The initial sync can take 30 minutes to several hours. Check the sync status on the Integrations page. 6. Authorization flow redirects to the wrong page Symptom: After authorizing with the platform, you are redirected to an error page or a blank screen. Solutions: - Clear your browser cookies and try again. - Make sure you are accessing Datadrew from within your Shopify admin (Apps > Datadrew), not from a direct URL. - If the issue persists, try in an incognito/private browser window. 7. Duplicate or wrong account connected Symptom: You connected the wrong ad account or GA4 property. Solution: Go to the Integrations page, find the incorrect connection, disconnect it, and reconnect with the correct account. Still having issues? Understanding data sync and freshness

Overview Datadrew syncs data from your connected platforms on a regular schedule. Understanding how data sync works helps you know when to expect the latest numbers and how fresh the data is on your dashboards. How data sync works When you connect a data source, Datadrew sets up an automated data pipeline that: 1. Extracts data from the source platform's API (Shopify, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.) 2. Loads the raw data into Datadrew's data warehouse 3. Transforms the raw data into analytics-ready tables and metrics This process runs automatically on a schedule. You do not need to manually trigger syncs. Sync frequency by platform | | | | | --- | --- | --- | | Platform | Sync Frequency | Typical Delay | | Shopify | Daily | A few hours | | Facebook/Meta Ads | Daily | A few hours | | Google Ads | Daily | A few hours | | Google Analytics 4 | Daily | 24-48 hours (Google processing delay) | | Klaviyo | Real-time via API | Live (queried on demand by Drew AI) | | Google Search Console | Real-time via API | 2-3 days (Google processing delay) | Understanding data freshness There are two factors that affect how fresh your data is: 1. Platform processing delay Some platforms take time to finalize their data. For example, Google Analytics 4 data can take 24-48 hours to be fully processed on Google's end. Google Search Console data is typically 2-3 days behind. This is not a Datadrew limitation — it is how these platforms work. 2. Sync schedule Datadrew syncs data on a daily schedule. After a sync completes, it triggers a data transformation step that refreshes your dashboards and reports. The transformation typically takes 15-30 minutes after a sync completes. Initial sync vs. ongoing syncs Initial sync: When you first connect a platform, Datadrew pulls your full historical data. This can take longer — anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours depending on the volume of data. You will see a "Syncing" status during this time. Ongoing syncs: After the initial sync, only new and updated data is pulled (incremental sync). This is much faster, typically completing in minutes. Checking sync status You can check the status of your data syncs on the Integrations page: - Synced — data is up to date - Syncing — a sync is currently in progress - Connected — the connection is active and data is being synced on schedule - Disconnected — the connection has been lost (usually due to an expired token) Hourly performance data The Hourly Performance dashboard uses a special fast-refresh pipeline that updates more frequently than the standard daily sync. If you have Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and Google Analytics connected, hourly data refreshes throughout the day, giving you near-real-time visibility into your store's performance. Tip: If you need to see the absolute latest data from Klaviyo or Google Search Console, ask Drew AI. These integrations query the platform APIs in real time, so Drew AI always returns the freshest available data. Need help? If your data seems stale or a sync appears stuck, contact us at support@datadrew.io or use the in-app chat. We can check your sync status and trigger a manual refresh if needed. Connecting multiple ad accounts

Overview Datadrew supports connecting multiple ad accounts from the same platform. This is useful if you manage several Facebook Ads accounts or Google Ads accounts for the same brand, different product lines, or different regions. When you might need multiple accounts - You run separate Facebook Ads accounts for different product categories or geographies - You have multiple Google Ads accounts under a manager (MCC) account - An agency manages some campaigns in a separate ad account - You are transitioning from one ad account to another and want data from both How to connect additional accounts Facebook Ads 1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar. 2. On the Facebook Ads card, click "Add Account" or "Connect" if you are adding your first account. 3. You can select multiple ad accounts during the OAuth flow. Each selected account will be connected as a separate integration. 4. If you need to add accounts from a different Facebook user, complete the OAuth flow with that user's credentials. Google Ads 1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar. 2. On the Google Ads card, click "Add Account" or "Connect". 3. During the setup flow, you will see all accessible accounts including sub-accounts under manager (MCC) accounts. Select the additional account you want to connect. 4. Each Google Ads account is connected as a separate integration with its own sync schedule. Google Analytics 4 1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar. 2. On the Google Analytics card, click "Add Account" or "Connect". 3. Select the additional GA4 property you want to connect. How blended metrics work with multiple accounts When you have multiple ad accounts connected, Datadrew automatically blends the data: - Blended ad spend is the sum of spend across all connected Facebook Ads and Google Ads accounts - Blended ROAS is calculated as total Shopify revenue divided by total blended ad spend - Campaign-level reports show campaigns from all connected accounts, labeled by platform - Product Performance combines product-level ad data from all connected accounts Note: Be careful not to double-count by connecting accounts that serve the same campaigns. If one ad account is a sub-account of another, connecting both may result in duplicate data in blended metrics. Managing connected accounts You can view all connected accounts for each platform on the Integrations page. Each connected account shows: - Account name and ID - Connection status (Connected, Syncing, or Disconnected) - Last sync time To disconnect an account, click on the account and select the disconnect option. This stops data syncing but does not delete historical data that has already been imported. Need help? If you need help managing multiple accounts or are unsure whether to connect additional accounts, reach out to us at support@datadrew.io or use the in-app chat.
